ZXTM and ZXTM LB

ZXTM is our premium traffic management product. For customers who need a basic load balancing solution without the advanced features (and price) of ZXTM, we offer a cut down version of ZXTM called 'ZXTM LB' (for 'ZXTM Load Balancer').

ZXTM and ZXTM LB are identical applications but use different license keys. The ZXTM LB license key turns off some of the features of the full ZXTM product.

What features are not present in ZXTM LB?

ZXTM includes bandwidth management, service level monitoring and advanced clustering features which are not present in ZXTM LB.

ZXTM allows you to edit TrafficScript rules using a complete programming language, with a text editor and hundreds of helper functions. To make it easy to construct simple rules, ZXTM also provides a graphical 'RuleBuilder' that lets you construct rules as a series of tests, followed by a series of actions if the tests pass.

ZXTM LB includes the graphical 'RuleBuilder', but it does not let you construct sophisticated rules using the programming language directly.

Which version of ZXTM are you been using?

The version of ZXTM is determined by the license key that the ZXTM software is using. If you have installed several license keys - perhaps as part of an evaluation procedure - ZXTM will chose the license key that provides the most features.

If you look at the version number in your installation (the top left corner of the UI), it should read 'ZXTM 3.1 LB' (not 'ZXTM 3.1'):

You'll also see the software version number each time you log in to the admin server.
