Using your ZXTM Desktop Edition

Here are a number of worked examples to familiarize yourself with ZXTM. The previous article in this series - Installing and running the ZXTM Virtual Machine - explains how to download, install and run the ZXTM Virtual Machine.

Using the ZXTM Desktop Edition - Part 1

Part 1 contains a number of worked examples that illustrate how to use ZXTM, to help you learn the basics of the ZXTM software:

  3. Rewriting Requests
  4. Routing Requests
  5. The Activity Monitor
  6. Introduction to TrafficScript
  7. Managing SSL Traffic

The exercises should take about 45 minutes to complete.

 

Using the ZXTM Desktop Edition - Part 2

Part 2 contains worked examples that illustrate the advanced features of ZXTM. It assumes that you are familiar with ZXTM, and know how to configure basic services and rules.

  1. Manipulating Response Data
  2. Detecting and retrying errors
  3. More Advanced Response Rewriting
  4. Managing Content Caching
  5. Using Service Level Monitoring
  6. Intelligent Session Persistence
  7. Request Rate Shaping
  8. Managing Bandwidth
  9. Introduction to Java Extensions

The exercises should take about 90 minutes to complete, but you can dip in and select the ones you are most interested in.
