What are the different license key options? The capabilities of ZXTM are controlled by the license key that is in use. ZXTM and ZXTM LB use the same installation package - the identity of the software is determined by the license key. ZXTM LB A ZXTM LB license key enables the basic capabilities of ZXTM LB. For more details, please refer to the ZXTM and ZXTM LB feature comparison, which describes the differences between ZXTM and ZXTM LB. ZXTM LB systems are additionally limited by the number of back-end IP addresses they can send traffic to; typically 4, 12 or unlimited IPs. For example, a 4-IP version of ZXTM LB can load balance traffic across 4 different IP addresses (i.e. 4 different servers). ZXTM LB systems can only be clustered in pairs. Larger clusters of 3 or more ZXTM LBs are not supported. ZXTM ZXTM includes a number of additional features over ZXTM, including TrafficScript, XML processing, Rate Shaping and Java Extensions. ZXTM can be clustered in large groups of 3 or more ZXTM systems, and there is no limit to the number of back-end IP addresses. ZXTM has a number of optional features, which are enabled by license key. These include Bandwidth Management, Content Caching and Service Level Monitoring. See the ZXTM Options description for more details. Development licenses Zeus also issues 'Development Licenses'. These license keys are intended for use in a development environment, and may not be used in a production environment where the ZXTMs handle live traffic. A development license imposes the following restrictions on the software:
Evaluation and Full licenses License keys may be restricted to a particular machine ID (IP address or MAC address), or may have time limitations in them. Typically, evaluation licenses are unrestricted but have a time expiry, whereas full licenses have no time limit but are bound to an IP address.
