How do I run my ZXTMs in Active-Active mode?

Each traffic IP address is raised on one of the ZXTM systems in the cluster. If you configure a Traffic IP group with several IP addresses, the ZXTMs will share these IPs addresses evenly between themselves.

For example, if you have a pair of ZXTM systems that you would like to run in active-active mode, you should create a Traffic IP group that contains 2 IP addresses. Configure the DNS for this service to resolve to both of these IP addresses. Remote clients will chose one of the IP addresses at random (round-robin DNS) and incoming requests will be distributed across both ZXTMs.

The ZXTMs in a cluster continually exchange session persistence information with each other. If one ZXTM were to fail, the other would take over the Traffic IP address(es) it was listening on. It would be aware of the session state, so no user sessions would be lost.

For a more detailed account, take a look at the TrafficCluster Fault Tolerance KnowledgeHub article.
