When Zeus released version 6.0 of our traffic management software, we made a decision to simplify the naming of our various traffic management products:

ZXTM (Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager) became Zeus Traffic Manager

ZXTM LB (ZXTM Load Balancer) became Zeus Load Balancer

ZXTM GLB (ZXTM Global Load Balancer) became Zeus Global Load Balancer

ZXTM AFM (ZXTM Application Firewall Module) became Zeus Application Firewall Module
The 'ZXTM' name has been retired, so other uses of 'ZXTM' have also been updated. For example, the ZXTM Desktop Edition is now known as the Zeus Desktop Edition.

Has ZXTM been end-of-lifed?
No. The name of the software was changed between versions 5.1 and 6.0. Zeus Traffic Manager 6.0 is the version of the software that follows ZXTM 5.1.
Zeus Traffic Manager and ZXTM are the same product.

Is ZXTM still supported?
Of course. Zeus' Software Lifecycle Policy describes how Zeus supports older versions of the software; ZXTM 5.1 is an older version of Zeus Traffic Manager 6.0 and is supported accordingly.
The Software Support Matrix lists all releases of ZXTM and Zeus Traffic Manager and the support status for each.

I still see mentions of 'ZXTM'?
Updating Zeus' content and collateral is a gradual and ongoing process. Older articles on KnowledgeHub will continue to use the 'ZXTM' name, and you may notice the use of 'zxtm' in some places in the product (APIs, directory names, etc) where it is not appropriate or worthwhile to remove it.
Many older reviews and articles written about our software will refer to it as 'ZXTM'.

What about ZXTM LB / ZXTM Load Balancer?
ZXTM Load Balancer has been renamed to Zeus Load Balancer.
Zeus Traffic Manager and Zeus Load Balancer consist of exactly the same software. The two products have different license keys that control what features are available, and what product name is reported in the user interface.

What about ZXTM GLB / ZXTM Global Load Balancer?
ZXTM Global Load Balancer has been renamed to Zeus Global Load Balancer.
Zeus Global Load Balancer is a different software product, although it is heavily based on the Zeus Traffic Manager codebase.

ZXTM Application Firewall Module has been renamed to Zeus Application Firewall Module.
Zeus Application Firewall Module is an optional software module for Zeus Traffic Manager.
