ZXTM 4.0r2 was released on Monday 6th March 2006 via customers' download pages and for evaluation.

Version 4.0r2 is a minor revision of the ZXTM / ZXTM LB 4.0 product family. It contains a number of bug fixes and stability improvements, and customers are recommended to upgrade as soon as possible to take advantage of the improvements.

Broadband Testing, an independent laboratory specializing in network performance, recently ran a ZXTM appliance through a range of rigorous tests to find the true limits of its performance. Highlights include full content inspection and rewriting at a rate of 640 Mbit/s, and XML inspection and translation (XSLT) at over 550 Mbit/s.

Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager 4.0 and ZXTM 4.0 LB were released on Thursday 20th October. ZXTM 4.0 is a major revision of the ZXTM product family, containing a large number of performance and functionality improvements, and many stability improvements and bug fixes over previous releases. Core new features include:

• Content Caching: ZXTM 4.0 includes a full HTTP Content Cache for web content.
• ZXTM Control API: The ZXTM Control API provides a means for external applications to manage a ZXTM cluster.
• IP Transparency: ZXTM 4.0 appliances can preserve the IP address of the remote client when forwarding requests to a back-end server.
