Zeus is pleased to announce the immediate availabilty of ZXTM version 4.1. ZXTM 4.1 is a significant revision of the ZXTM product family, providing major new functionality and new appliances offering doubled performance.

Request Rate Shaping and Differentiated Services

Our major new software capability is Request Rate Shaping, which allows a user to limit the rate that various types of request are admitted through the ZXTM system. This has wide applicability, from preventing fragile infrastructure from being overwhelmed by flash floods, preventing individuals from dominating or abusing a service, through to preventing dictionary-based attacks against login pages.

Other new software features include the ability to control precisely how requests are routed to back-end nodes (vital for RDP-type applications), additional TrafficScript and SOAP functions, and support for NTLM, SOAP, Chunked-transfer uploads and other relevant standards.

Appliances

The people who will notice the biggest difference will be our Appliance customers. We have greatly improved the underlying software foundation of the appliance, so it's now much easier to configure and manage.

Upgrades

Supported customers can download the new software from their Customer Pages - please contact your account manager if you need assistance.

Software upgrades are simple - just run the 'zinstall' tool in the software package to apply the upgrade on your ZXTM machine.

Appliance users will need to download the new ISO from their customer pages and boot their ZXTM Appliance from it. Please read the Appliance Upgrade Instructions for more details.
