Zeus Traffic Manager 6.0 was released on October 20th 2009 via customers' download pages and is available for download and evaluation.
Zeus Traffic Manager 6.0 is a major new release, supporting new platforms (software and virtual appliances), Amazon EC2, and providing many new features.
New features
New features include:
-
Multi-Hosted Traffic IP addresses: allowing for seamless scaling from one to many traffic management systems, all listening on a single external IP address and sharing traffic equally between themselves;
-
Command-line Interface: adding to the Web and SOAP API interfaces, the command line interface is another method to manage your traffic management cluster;
-
Content-caching to Solid-State Disks: to enable Zeus Traffic Manager to cache huge amounts of data for content-rich sites and cache servers;
-
Detailed Traffic Diagnostics: to give you full visualization of any failed transactions for debugging purposes;
-
Integrated Administration Authentication: allowing you to delegate admin authentication and privileges to an external user database, LDAP, RADIUS or TACACS+;
-
Geolocation: Build location-sensitive traffic management policies using TrafficScript and the new geolocation capabilities to handle user requests based on their location;
-
Additional Platforms: In addition to Linux and Solaris software and the VMware virtual machine, version 6.0 adds support for OpenSolaris (software) and VMware vSphere, XenServer, Xen and OracleVM (virtual appliances) and Amazon EC2 (AMI).
